Projects from PureLoX
GERRY WEBER International AG, headquartered in Halle/Westphalia, is a globally operating group in the fashion industry that unites five strong brand families under one roof: GERRY WEBER, TAIFUN, SAMOON, HALLHUBER and talkabout. Since its foundation in 1973, GERRY WEBER International AG has developed into one of the best-known fashion and lifestyle companies. The company is constantly expanding its firm position in the international market. With around 7,000 employees worldwide, the Group has sales structures in 62 countries and is one of the largest listed fashion groups in Germany.
In December 2015, the new logistics center at the new Ravenna Park business location in Halle/Westphalia was put into operation. The largest single investment in the history of the international fashion and lifestyle group is gradually replacing the decentralized logistics warehouses at the Ibbenbüren, Osnabrück, Brockhagen and Dortmund sites. The construction project, with an investment volume of around EUR 90 million, took just 20 months to complete.
GERRY WEBER decided to draw on the expertise of PureLoX SOLUTIONS GmbH to provide optimum support for such a state-of-the-art and innovative logistics center during the start-up phase. Many years of experience in software projects, the coordination of various trades and a pronounced “hands-on mentality” were decisive criteria for GERRY WEBER to integrate PureLoX as a partner in the project.
„Optimizing such a multi-layered overall system is an exciting task in which we were able to incorporate all of our experience,“ explains Georg Weier, Head of Implementation at PureLoX SOLUTIONS GmbH. “We have to manage and coordinate a wide variety of IT disciplines. The project management of individual sub-projects, the development of new concepts and ensuring the smooth cooperation of the systems in day-to-day business are tasks that are always implemented by PureLoX in the interests of GERRY WEBER International AG. The existing processes and solutions are constantly being refined and the possible performance further increased.
The entire flow of goods in both the hanging garment and flat-packed goods areas has been automated using state-of-the-art technology. Thanks to a stringent RFID concept, the logistics system is designed for maximum performance with a very high level of process reliability.”
