TEMA Transport und Logistik GmbH, based in Zimmern ob Rottweil in Baden-Württemberg, specializes in customer-oriented logistics management and Europe-wide distribution and transport logistics of all sizes. The range of services extends to particularly fast overnight and express courier services. With a broad fleet of over 120 modern vehicles and more than 220 employees, the company fulfills hundreds of orders of varying complexity and requirements every week.
When scheduling and invoicing each individual order, TEMA has to take all service components into account and bring them together. These include, for example, the distance, the type of vehicle used, the personnel costs, the toll charges incurred, the freight routes (e.g. multimodal transportation) and any transit costs incurred. As the volume of orders continued to increase, TEMA’s management looked for a suitable solution to fully automate the complex and manually laborious invoicing processes.
The plx.billing software solution from PureLoX SOLUTIONS GmbH was the convincing choice when the options were examined. The central product advantages and the economical use as a cloud-based application via plx.cloud were decisive factors for TEMA.
plx.billing is a software add-on for the complete automation of billing that can be flexibly integrated into existing infrastructures. If required, it can access all internal and external data sources in the supply chain across all systems. A particular requirement for TEMA was that the software can be easily customized to create its own, tailor-made tool. Klaus Tez, Managing Director of TEMA, explains another requirement that was also important to those responsible: „In addition to the quality and flexibility of the software, it was important to us that we receive a cloud-based solution that works immediately via a web browser, without the need to invest in a new IT infrastructure, and that makes ongoing operating costs transparent and plannable. The integration of plx.billing into TEMA’s operating processes went according to plan. Julie Ann Heisig, project manager at PureLoX, gives an overview of the performance steps: „Together with our customer, we discussed which individual requirements needed to be met. We then adapted our software to the functions that were important for TEMA in an agile development process. At the same time, the key users were trained according to the ‘train-the-trainer’ principle. As the user interface of plx.billing is intuitive to use, we were also able to design this smoothly. Before going live, the test environment and final test phase ensured the quality of the results. Users can now access the software securely and reliably via our plx.cloud. However, should a fault occur, we ensure that problems are solved quickly via the support team and online portal.“
The days when TEMA produced hundreds of invoices a week with a great deal of manual effort are over. Managing Director Klaus Tez concludes: „Automatic invoicing is a huge advantage for us. This has a positive effect on many internal processes. With our customized tool, we can immediately display and link all performance data, which also simplifies scheduling. Together with the delivery bill, the invoices are now sent directly to our customers by e-mail – it couldn’t be easier.
