SWITCH TO OVERVIEW
Max Müller
 - Logistics service provider

Automatic customer billing with warehouse rents,
handling costs, VAS …

Max Müller Spedition GmbH in Opfenbach/Bavaria, founded in 1922, operates worldwide as a logistics and forwarding service provider. The company organizes the supply chain from A to Z for well-known customers from industry and trade. Today, it is one of the leading logistics and forwarding service providers in southern Germany.

Broad range of services as a logistics service provider

In the Warehousing division, Max Müller offers a total of over 90,000 square meters of covered storage space with block storage, high-bay storage, small parts storage and file storage. Value Added Services (VAS) round off the customer-oriented logistics services. In the forwarding sector, the company has a large, ultra-modern fleet of vehicles ranging from local trucks to XXL mega articulated lorries.

Software integrates all individual services

Digitalization and automation have long been an issue at Max Müller. Central processes have already been digitally transformed. Those responsible were now also looking for a suitable solution for the complex area of customer billing. Wilfried Steinacher, Head of IT at Max Müller: „It was important to us that all services that need to be included in individual customer billing can be automatically integrated and mapped via the software. It was also very important for us to find a solution that could be easily integrated into our existing IT landscape and reliably access all data sources. And finally, we wanted to be able to adapt and expand the software independently.“

The plx.billing solution from PureLoX SOLUTIONS convinced the decision-makers. This was mainly due to the fact that in PureLoX, Max Müller had found an experienced provider that is familiar with the interaction of IT and logistics processes and has a high level of practical experience. After all, the client’s objective was for everything to come from a single source. This accelerates the software implementation from consulting to go-live and ensures reliable results.

plx.billing enables service billing at the touch of a button

The introduction of the new software went smoothly, parallel to the day-to-day business. plx.billing was installed as a software add-on locally on a Max Müller server and linked to the existing systems via prepared interfaces. Julie Ann Emmel, Logistics Consultant and Project Manager at PureLoX, explains the basic work involved in implementation and customizing: „We always create a test environment and a real environment for our tailor-made software solutions. First, the customer-specific requirements were configured together in the test environment at Max Müller and run through under real conditions using an individual customer. The customer’s central users were already at our side during this process. In other words, we combined the implementation, test and training phases.“

Once the test phase had been successfully completed, the new software could be put into operation. Max Müller’s various customers were gradually implemented, taking into account the individual service modules and billing modalities. This is quick and easy thanks to the intuitive user interface. Max Müller users can now create new customers independently and configure them individually.

Significant improvement in billing processes through digitalization

As a result, Max Müller now has plx.billing, a solution that generates customer invoices fully automatically at the touch of a button. The software can be expanded and scaled as required and can be used immediately via a web browser. New users can be added immediately via a role concept. Wilfried Steinacher is satisfied: „At Max Müller, we have a large number of different services and agreements that we have to take into account for each individual customer. These include, for example, warehouse rents, handling costs, VAS, graduated prices and manual processes. We can now implement all of this fully automatically with plx.billing. It is even possible to determine customer-related forecast data and invoice simulations in real time. The result for us is a significant improvement in our billing processes. Another important step in our digital development.“
