Projects from PureLoX
Ludwig Schokolade gains efficiency and transparency at its Lorsch site thanks to the standardized digitalization of loading time management. The web-based plx.planning software was configured and introduced as a suitable solution in a very short time.
Ludwig Schokolade GmbH & Co. KG is one of the most successful manufacturers of confectionery in Europe. Well-known brands include Trumpf, Schogetten, FRITT and Mauxion. Ludwig Schokolade is also one of the largest manufacturers of private labels in the retail sector. All products are manufactured to the highest quality and production standards in Germany and Poland.
Ludwig Schokolade has now introduced the plx.planning software for digital time slot management at its Lorsch site.
EXAMPLE SOLUTION VARIANT: Ludwig Schokolade uses plx.planning “standalone”. This means that the web-based software is used as a standalone solution for the digital management of loading times. There is no automatic data exchange with other systems such as ERP or WMS (possible and desired with integrated solutions). Thanks to its cloud-based use and simple configuration, the software was available within one day. › Zum Vergleich der Lösungsvarianten für digitales Zeitfenstermanagement
Previously, the planning and control of loading time windows for incoming and outgoing goods was carried out via Excel lists, telephone and email. This meant that the exchange of data and information for staff and external transport partners involved many individual manual steps. The error rate is naturally high. For Ludwig Schokolade, the aim was therefore to reduce the workload on staff by switching to a standardized digital platform, while at the same time increasing efficiency and transparency.
In retrospect, the introduction of the appropriate software for digital time slot management was very easy for those responsible. Oliver Moritz-Trautwein, IT specialist at Ludwig Logistik Service GmbH and responsible for the project at Ludwig Schokolade:
“We were able to gain an initial overview of the functionality of the plx.planning software in a webinar. Even then, it was clear to us that the standard features of the solution could be adapted to our requirements with little effort. In a subsequent workshop, we then configured the software for the Lorsch site together with the experts from PureLoX. This meant that the master data, the desired tour parameters, the number of ramps and the length of the time windows were simply configured to our specifications. That was it on the software side. As we use plx.planning standalone as a cloud solution and the web-based software can be used immediately via a browser, no investments or adjustments were necessary for our IT landscape. The software was therefore ready for us to use in just one day.”
Heiner Leipold, Consultant Logistics & IT at PureLoX, led plx.planning to its goal at Ludwig Schokolade. The project was also very efficient from his point of view:
“Together with our customer, we discussed all the desired parameters in the workshop and implemented them directly live. The functionality of our software has already been tried and tested in practice. As the logistics processes at most logistics locations are similar in principle, the configuration modules only need to be adapted to the customer. As a cloud-based standalone solution, plx.planning is available within a very short time. Interfaces to other systems such as ERP or WMS are not required in this variant. However, the integrated or deeply integrated solution variants of our software can also be implemented within a manageable project timeframe. Ultimately, it depends on how networked the data exchange is planned. There are almost no limits.”
With plx.planning, managing loading times is now much easier. The individual tours are created directly in the software or uploaded via CSV upload. The external transport partners then automatically receive a link to their tour by e-mail. Fixed partners already have an account and can book their time slot directly online. Other transport partners can receive a “single login” and log in to the platform once for a specific tour. The logistics managers at Ludwig Schokolade always have an up-to-date overview of the booked and free loading times. The data can be accessed from practically any end device worldwide. Time slots can also be managed centrally in the event of unplanned changes. This reduces waiting times for trucks and also makes the timely provision of goods more targeted.
plx.planning is very easy to use. The clear and intuitive interface makes it easy to learn how to use the software. Separate training at Ludwig Schokolade was not necessary. The demo during the webinar, the use of the test account and the setup together with the customer were already sufficient for the key users. They can quickly pass on the know-how they have gained within the customer. PureLoX SOLUTIONS also provides its customers with rapid support via a hotline and remote support if any questions arise.
Oliver Moritz-Trautwein is satisfied with the result:
Oliver Moritz-Trautwein is satisfied with the result: “In this day and age, digitalization is a top issue for companies. At Ludwig Schokolade, we have driven forward our digital transformation with plx.planning. And with little effort and great effect.
In Lorsch, we can now organize the logistics processes around the loading time slots much better. We always have an overview and can make adjustments more quickly if necessary for unplanned reasons such as truck delays.
Our logistics partners also benefit from digital networking. Exchanging information via our digital platform is now much easier. The cost-benefit ratio is also positive for us. The software saves us resources every day, especially staff time. At the same time, no investment was required for our IT as we opted for a cloud solution. plx.planning is web-based software that can be easily used via a browser.
We are delighted that we have now successfully completed this digitization step. A return to manual planning times is no longer conceivable for us.”
